Helping you understand and access your service options under the new CFSS program.
Every person entering into the new CFSS (Community First Services and Supports) program will need to select a Consultation Services Provider at the time of their reassessment (or initial assessment).
Consultation Services Providers are contracted with the state to deliver education and support to people transitioning, or new, to CFSS services.
As part of the support you receive from Alliance as your Consultation Services Provider, we will help you understand the two CFSS service delivery model options you have to choose from:
Agency Provider Model and Budget Model
Each model offers different levels of responsibility for people who receive services. Both models allow people the most control possible to select and obtain services.
You and/or your representative have the ability to:
If you choose the Agency Provider Model, you select an agency provider, like Alliance, to serve as your workers’ employer. As an agency, we will be responsible to recruit, hire, train, supervise and pay your CFSS support workers.
If you choose budget model, you will be the employer of your support workers. You will have a budget rather than service units. As the employer, you will be responsible to recruit, hire, train and supervise your support workers. You will select a Financial Management Services (FMS) provider, like Alliance, to help you with your payroll and other employer related tasks.
Alliance is both a PCA and CFSS Agency provider and also an FMS provider, however CFSS providers cannot also be a person’s Consultation Services Provider due to conflict of interest.
You may choose to work with Alliance for Consultation Services -OR- for CFSS services under one of the models.
